# Select the three-finger pinch gesture

Choose Three fingers under Pinch to open for a CubbyPad gesture separate from the thumb-and-three-fingers motion.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Opening.

1. Enable Pinch to open.

1. Set Fingers to Three fingers.

1. Draw three fingertips together to open the grid and spread them to close it.

## What to expect

The grid follows the configured pinch. Use three fingertips rather than adding a thumb when testing this choice; the two motions are different gesture settings.

A gesture is optional. You can keep F4, a shortcut or a corner available for a desk setup that does not use a trackpad. None of these choices changes the arrangement inside the grid.

## If the result is different

If another Apps view appears, inspect the chosen Fingers value and macOS Trackpad › More Gestures. Check the keyboard shortcut first to establish that CubbyPad itself opens. A gesture collision is different from an installation or activation failure.
