# Create a Not Opened Lately smart folder

A Not Opened Lately smart folder groups apps based on use instead of requiring a manually maintained review list.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Right-click empty grid space.

1. Choose New Smart Folder › Not Opened Lately.

1. Inspect the resulting applications.

1. Open, hide or investigate an app based on whether you still need it.

## What to expect

The smart group changes as app-use information changes. Being listed is a review signal, not proof that an app is safe to uninstall.

Seasonal tools, device utilities and infrequent creative apps can remain important despite long gaps between uses. Cleanup provides a separate view when you need to inspect disk space and removal options.

## If the result is different

If you want a stable collection, use a manual folder instead. Confirm an app’s purpose and any important data before choosing a removal command. A smart folder’s own removal should not be confused with moving its visible apps to the Trash.
