# Keep CubbyPad in the menu bar

Turn on the Menu bar option in Settings › General for an entry point to the grid, Settings and Quit.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open CubbyPad Settings › General.

1. Find Shows up in and enable Menu bar.

1. Locate the CubbyPad icon at the top of the screen.

1. Use it to inspect the available opening, Settings and Quit commands.

## What to expect

You have another route to the running launcher without needing its keyboard shortcut. It is useful while changing opening controls or when working with an unfamiliar keyboard.

The menu bar icon and the app grid are different surfaces. Closing the grid leaves CubbyPad running and the menu bar entrance available. Quitting the app stops its opening controls until it starts again.

## If the result is different

If you cannot find the icon, confirm the toggle and make sure CubbyPad is running. Check whether other menu bar items are crowding that part of the display. Keep the Dock entry enabled until you have confirmed a convenient way back to Settings.
