# Search with app initials or a misspelling

CubbyPad matches word beginnings, initials and typing mistakes, so a complete exact product name is not always necessary.

## Follow these steps

1. Open CubbyPad and enter a short query, such as gc for Google Chrome.

1. Inspect the app results before launching.

1. Add more letters if several apps match.

1. Use arrows and Return to choose deliberately.

## What to expect

Short names and some typing mistakes can still lead to the intended app. A misspelling such as chorme can match Chrome without a custom command.

A small query is naturally more ambiguous on a large app library. The goal is fewer keystrokes while keeping the result clear, rather than assuming two letters uniquely identify every application.

## If the result is different

If an unexpected app ranks ahead, make the query more specific or use a distinct custom app name. Initial matching does not require the Apple Intelligence model. If the app never appears, investigate discovery rather than only the spelling.
