# Restore the classic 7 × 5 grid

Use the 7 × 5 control in Settings › Grid when you want the 35-position page size associated with Launchpad.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid.

1. Find the row showing the current columns and rows.

1. Choose Use 7 × 5 when it is offered.

1. Check the page arrangement after capacity changes.

## What to expect

The grid uses seven columns and five rows. Folders occupy their own positions, so 35 positions does not necessarily mean only 35 applications are accessible through that page.

Grid dimensions, icon size, spacing and labels are distinct settings. Selecting 7 × 5 restores that page capacity rather than resetting every customization or importing an old Launchpad layout.

## If the result is different

If the page does not look exactly like an old screenshot, compare icon size, spacing and background separately. If you meant to recover old folders and positions, use the Launchpad import feature instead of expecting a size change to reconstruct them.
