# Quit CubbyPad instead of closing its grid

Choose Quit from CubbyPad’s app or menu bar menu when you want to stop the launcher and its opening controls.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Finish any arrangement change you are making.

1. Open CubbyPad’s app menu or menu bar menu.

1. Choose Quit.

1. Open the Applications copy again when you want the launcher back.

## What to expect

The launcher stops running. Its custom shortcut, F4 handling and other opening controls are unavailable until it starts again. Closing the grid with Escape does not have the same effect.

Quitting CubbyPad does not uninstall the apps displayed in the grid or deactivate your paid license. Those are separate actions with their own controls.

## If the result is different

If CubbyPad appears again after a later sign-in, inspect Open at login in Settings › General. If you wanted to close only the grid while keeping shortcuts ready, use Escape, an empty-space click or the opening shortcut instead of Quit.
