# Return to apps’ own icons

Choose Apps’ Own Icons in the Icon Pack menu to stop using Dot or Smoked artwork in the launcher.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid › Icon Pack.

1. Choose Apps’ Own Icons.

1. Check a familiar app and folder.

1. Review the system Icon style separately if the artwork still looks different from an older screenshot.

## What to expect

CubbyPad returns to the apps’ own artwork instead of a selected launcher pack. The operation does not reinstall applications, move files or remove their grid positions.

macOS can apply its own icon style. Returning from a CubbyPad pack therefore does not necessarily return the entire Mac to a historical Default appearance.

## If the result is different

If a particular app still has unexpected artwork, compare its appearance outside CubbyPad and inspect the system style. Keep the issue specific to that app rather than resetting all layouts. A custom app name is separate from its icon artwork.
