# Always open CubbyPad on the main display

Select the main-display choice to use the screen macOS identifies as the main display, regardless of pointer position.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Check the main display in System Settings › Displays.

1. Open CubbyPad Settings › Opening.

1. Set Display › Open on to Main.

1. Place the pointer on a different screen and test the grid.

## What to expect

CubbyPad opens on the Mac’s main display. The option follows the system’s main-display choice rather than a particular monitor’s identity.

This is useful when you want the grid in a consistent workspace but occasionally change which physical monitor is the main screen. Select a named display instead if a particular monitor should always be preferred.

## If the result is different

If the result changes after rearranging screens, review the main-display choice in macOS. If you expected the pointer’s screen, switch to the pointer-based option. Neither setting should require restoring or reorganizing the app layout.
