# Choose CubbyPad’s opening animation

Pick zoom, fade or rise in Settings › Opening to change how the grid enters and leaves the screen.

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Opening.

1. Find Motion › Opening style.

1. Choose the style you want to compare.

1. Use Try It, then Escape to return to Settings.

## What to expect

The transition changes while the grid’s apps and folders stay arranged as before. Compare opening and closing together so the complete interaction feels comfortable.

Opening style and opening speed are separate controls. macOS Reduce Motion takes priority over the decorative style and makes CubbyPad use a fade.

## If the result is different

If every style looks like a fade, inspect the Reduce Motion note in the Motion card. That is expected when the accessibility preference is enabled. Use the preview rather than repeatedly switching work apps just to compare transitions.
