# Move CubbyPad to Applications

Run CubbyPad from Applications rather than from the mounted disk image so the installed copy remains available after a restart.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Quit a copy currently running from the disk image.

1. Open the CubbyPad DMG and drag CubbyPad to Applications.

1. Open Finder › Applications and launch CubbyPad there.

1. Eject the disk image once you have confirmed that the installed copy opens.

## What to expect

The app remains on your Mac when the image is ejected. Its opening shortcuts can work while that installed copy is running, and the login item has a stable app location.

The installer image and installed application are separate files. Copying CubbyPad into Applications does not mean moving the apps displayed in its grid; those keep their own installations.

## If the result is different

If you still see the disk image mount whenever you open CubbyPad, check the shortcut or Finder item you are using. Launch directly from Applications to confirm the intended copy. Do not discard layout backups as part of fixing the app’s installation location.
