# Import an old Apple Launchpad arrangement

CubbyPad can read the old Launchpad database if macOS left it behind on this Mac.

## Follow these steps

1. Save the current CubbyPad layout if it matters to you.

1. Open Settings › Layout › Import.

1. Choose Import Launchpad layout when it is available.

1. Read the replacement confirmation and inspect familiar folders afterward.

## What to expect

Existing old pages and folders provide the starting arrangement. Apps installed since the source layout can appear at the end.

The import requires surviving data from the older Launchpad installation. A fresh Mac or clean installation may have the same apps without having the old folder names and positions to read.

## If the result is different

If the control is absent or the source cannot be read, keep the current layout and start with manual organization or an Organize preview. Do not assume installing CubbyPad can recreate a database that no longer exists. Its import reads the old source rather than editing it.
