# Read a LaunchNext arrangement or backup

Import from LaunchNext accepts the detected local layout, a .launchnext backup folder or the corresponding Data.store file.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Back up your current CubbyPad arrangement.

1. Open Settings › Layout › Import from LaunchNext.

1. Use the detected local store or select the intended backup folder or Data.store.

1. Review the replacement confirmation, then check the imported pages.

## What to expect

CubbyPad reads a copy of the source without modifying LaunchNext’s own layout. Apps unavailable on this Mac are skipped; newly discovered apps go at the end.

The input must be an actual supported store or backup, not a screenshot of an arrangement. Command–Z in the grid can reverse the replacement when you need to inspect the previous state.

## If the result is different

If the store is unreadable, verify the selected file or backup folder and retain the original. Contact support with versions and the exact error instead of manually rewriting the source database. Keep your CubbyPad backup until the result is confirmed.
