# Understand an icon pack’s coverage count

The Icon Pack card reports how many of your installed apps have dedicated artwork; other apps are still shown in a matching style.

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid › Icon Pack.

1. Select a pack and read the displayed coverage.

1. Compare the preview with your installed app library.

1. Check an app outside the dedicated artwork set to see its fallback rendering.

## What to expect

Dedicated artwork and generated matching artwork can appear in the same grid. A lower coverage count does not mean the remaining apps are hidden or unsupported for launching.

Dot and Smoked each contain drawings for 81 popular apps. The number matching your Mac depends on what is installed, so it can differ between two Macs using the same layout.

## If the result is different

If an actual app is missing, investigate app discovery or Hidden Apps instead of the artwork count. If only its appearance is unexpected, compare Apps’ Own Icons and describe which pack is selected when reporting the issue.
