# Turn grid pages horizontally or vertically

The Pages go setting in Settings › Grid switches between side-by-side pages and pages stacked up and down.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid and find Turning pages.

1. Choose the desired Pages go direction.

1. Swipe or scroll in that direction.

1. Check a later page and a folder to get familiar with navigation.

## What to expect

The page movement changes orientation. Your apps remain part of the arrangement; changing direction is a navigation preference rather than an automatic category sort.

Command-arrow navigation and Command–[ or Command–] also provide page controls. Vertical pages slide without the sideways edge-fade treatment.

## If the result is different

If a swipe seems ineffective, compare its direction with Pages go and try a keyboard page command. Confirm that the layout has another page to visit. Check Mouse side buttons independently if a mouse’s back or forward button is involved.
