# Review installers left in Downloads

CubbyPad’s Cleanup can find downloaded installers for apps you already have so you can decide which copies are still needed.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Cleanup and find the installer review section.

1. Inspect the downloaded item and the corresponding installed app.

1. Keep offline or older-version installers you deliberately need.

1. Select unwanted items and review the move to Trash.

## What to expect

Removing an installer can reclaim its stored file space without removing the already installed app. The disk image and the Applications copy have different roles.

A download can be useful as an archive even after installation. Do not classify every DMG or package as redundant solely because a similar app name is installed.

## If the result is different

If the scan cannot inspect Downloads, review the macOS folder-access request and the source files in Finder. Confirm the installed app opens from Applications before discarding its image. Keep the Trash available for review rather than immediately emptying it.
