# Hide the app strip above the grid

Turn App strip off in Settings › Grid if you want only the pages and folders you arranged.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid.

1. Find Above the grid.

1. Turn App strip off.

1. Reopen the grid to check the simpler presentation.

## What to expect

The extra row is no longer shown above your app pages. The apps that appeared there remain installed and can still be found in their normal grid positions or through search.

The Show choice beneath the enabled strip controls suggestions versus recents. Hiding the strip is a display preference; it does not switch layouts or uninstall apps.

## If the result is different

If a different row or indicator remains, check whether you are looking at search results or the grid itself. Notification badges and running-app dots have their own toggles. Re-enable App strip whenever the extra opening route becomes useful again.
