# Turn off Apple Intelligence app suggestions

Disable Suggest apps in Settings › Search & Siri if you want name-based search without the optional task-suggestion model.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open CubbyPad Settings › Search & Siri.

1. Find the Apple Intelligence card.

1. Turn Suggest apps off.

1. Test ordinary app names and initials to confirm your usual search route.

## What to expect

Typed task descriptions no longer use that optional app-suggestion feature. The grid, regular name search, folders and layouts remain separate core functions.

The on-device model uses memory while working. The Settings card explains that tradeoff so you can decide whether the additional task interpretation is worth using on your Mac.

## If the result is different

If voice input is the feature you want to stop or troubleshoot, inspect its microphone and speech controls separately. Disabling Suggest apps does not revoke system speech permissions or change the App strip’s local time-based suggestion mode.
