# Create an app folder in CubbyPad

Drop one app onto another to create a folder, or group selected apps with Control–Command–N.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Hold an app until the icons wobble.

1. Drag it onto another app and release.

1. Inspect the new folder and its suggested name.

1. Rename the folder for the task or group you recognize.

## What to expect

The apps share a visual folder in the grid. Their installation locations and documents are not moved into a new Finder folder.

A folder can represent a specific activity rather than a broad software category. Use a name you would look for during work, such as Writing or Recording, then add only the apps that belong.

## If the result is different

If the app moved beside the destination instead, enter arrangement mode and make the drop target deliberate. Keyboard selection and Control–Command–N avoid that aiming step. Use Undo if you create the wrong group rather than rebuilding the page manually.
