# Change the number of grid rows and columns

Set 4–12 columns and 3–8 rows in Settings › Grid to choose how many icon positions each page can hold.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid and find Size.

1. Adjust Columns for positions across the page.

1. Adjust Rows for positions down the page.

1. Inspect later pages as well as the first after changing capacity.

## What to expect

Pages keep their order. When an existing page contains more apps than the new size can hold, the overflow continues onto a following page rather than fitting into smaller invisible slots.

The capacity is rows multiplied by columns. Icon size is an additional appearance control, so changing it alone does not mean you selected a different number of positions.

## If the result is different

If the arrangement now spans more pages, that can be the expected result of reducing capacity. Check every page before assuming apps disappeared. Back up a carefully arranged layout before a major size change.
