# Use a glass backdrop in CubbyPad

Choose Glass in Settings › Grid › Background for a frosted backdrop behind your app icons.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid and locate Background.

1. Choose the glass option.

1. Open the grid over your normal desktop.

1. Check icon labels and open a folder before keeping the appearance.

## What to expect

The grid uses a frosted desktop presentation rather than a selected image or solid color. Your app arrangement stays the same.

Background type and icon pack are separate choices. A quieter backdrop can help when a pack has subtle artwork or many apps have similar shapes. Keep labels visible while comparing.

## If the result is different

If you expected a particular picture, check whether Picture or Wallpaper is selected instead. If legibility is the issue, compare a simpler background and the available blur or dim controls rather than only increasing icon size.
