# Show time-based app suggestions above the grid

Set the enabled App strip to suggestions when you want apps you tend to use at that time of day.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid and find Above the grid.

1. Enable App strip.

1. Choose the suggestions option under Show.

1. Use the launcher during your normal routine and compare it at different times.

## What to expect

A strip of seven apps provides a convenient route based on local app-use patterns. Recent apps fill in while CubbyPad learns enough about your routine.

The strip does not move the icons in your chosen pages. Time-based suggestions are also separate from Apple Intelligence interpreting a typed task such as “edit photos.”

## If the result is different

If the strip initially looks like a recent-app list, allow ordinary usage to build local history. Check the Show choice if you always want recent apps instead. The app-use information behind the suggestions stays on this Mac.
