# Show recently used apps above the grid

Choose recent apps for the App strip when you want a row based on the apps you used most recently.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Open Settings › Grid › Above the grid.

1. Turn App strip on.

1. Set Show to the recent-app option.

1. Use a few apps normally, then reopen CubbyPad to inspect the row.

## What to expect

The strip offers recent apps used on your Mac, including use outside CubbyPad. It is a quick return route rather than a permanent pinned collection.

This option uses recency instead of the suggestion mode’s time-of-day pattern. The seven-app strip sits above your layout and does not sort its folders or pages.

## If the result is different

If a favorite app falls out of the strip after using other tools, that is consistent with a recent-use list. Keep a stable page position for favorites you always want visible. Check Show again if you intended to use time-based suggestions.
