# Use CubbyPad when Apple Intelligence is unavailable

Use ordinary name search and the category-based Organize fallback when your Mac’s Apple Intelligence model is not available.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Check the Mac’s Apple Intelligence support and enabled state if task suggestions are required.

1. Try a direct installed-app name in CubbyPad.

1. Use Settings › Layout › Organize… to inspect the available folder suggestion mode.

1. Continue with regular grid and folder controls as needed.

## What to expect

The core launcher remains useful without task interpretation. Organize can fall back to App Store categories rather than requiring an AI model for every arrangement.

A query naming no application, such as “edit photos,” is different from searching Photos by name. A model-availability problem can affect the former without breaking the latter.

## If the result is different

If even a direct name is missing, confirm installation, discovery sources and activation. If only model features fail, note the status shown in Search & Siri. Avoid resetting working layouts to troubleshoot an optional model.
