# Add an app to the Dock from CubbyPad

Use Add to Dock in an app’s context menu when you want a permanent Dock entry as well as its launcher position.

Last updated 26 October 2026

## Follow these steps

1. Find the intended application in CubbyPad.

1. Right-click its icon.

1. Choose Add to Dock.

1. Inspect the Dock and open the app from that entry to confirm the target.

## What to expect

The app has another opening route in the Dock. Its CubbyPad position is not a request to remove it from the grid or relocate its installation.

Pin only the applications you want in that always-visible area. The grid can keep the rest organized without making the Dock expand to include your entire library.

## If the result is different

If the Dock entry behaves unexpectedly, confirm the application and installation location you selected. Applications on disconnected external drives still require their files. CubbyPad’s own Dock-icon setting is under General and is separate from adding another app.
