# Organize a Mac with a large app library

Use stable pages, a few clear task folders and search together instead of trying to fit every installed app into one dense view.

## Begin with how you find things

A large library is not automatically disorganized. The useful question is whether you can reliably reach the tool you need. Some apps are remembered by name, others by an icon or a particular project group. Plan the grid around those habits.

## Use more than one level of access

Keep the first page useful for everyday work. Group related occasional tools in folders and use search for a known app rather than scanning every page.

CubbyPad can preview Organize suggestions when you need a starting structure. Review the proposal before applying it, then rename or adjust folders so they reflect your own work rather than leaving every automatic category untouched.

## Resist the urge to maximize page capacity

More columns can reduce page count while making icons and labels harder to distinguish. Compare readability at your normal viewing distance. A slightly larger library spread over clear pages can be easier to navigate than one compressed into a crowded first screen.

## Keep the arrangement recoverable

1. Save a layout backup before a broad sort.

1. Use a Recently Installed smart folder to review additions.

1. Hide tools that should remain installed but need no page prominence.

1. Review unused software separately when disk space matters.
