# Adjust the launcher’s opening speed without changing app launches

CubbyPad’s motion timing controls its own transition. It is separate from the time another application takes to load after selection.

## Identify which part feels slow

There are two different moments: CubbyPad opening its grid, and an application starting after you choose it. The Speed setting in Opening changes the first transition. It cannot reduce an editor’s project loading or repair a slow external disk containing another app.

## Compare the same transition each time

1. Open Settings › Opening › Motion.

1. Keep Opening style fixed while comparing Speed values.

1. Use Try It and Escape to repeat the preview.

1. Keep the value that feels comfortable without making movement difficult to follow.

## Account for Reduce Motion

The system’s Reduce Motion preference makes CubbyPad fade instead of using its decorative style. Read the Motion card’s note when the effect differs from the selected zoom or rise. That override is part of the intended behavior rather than a reason to reset every preference.

A quieter transition can be more comfortable even if a large animation looks impressive in a demo. Judge your repeated use.

## Describe the right delay to support

If the pause occurs after choosing one particular app, name that app and its source location. If the grid itself opens slowly, describe the opening method, style, speed and display setup. A specific sequence is easier to investigate than an undifferentiated claim that everything is slow.

[### Does CubbyPad require Apple Intelligence?

No. The app grid, ordinary search, folders and layouts work without Apple Intelligence. Plain-language task suggestions and model-based organization have additional requirements.

CubbyPad can match app initials and typing mistakes: “gc” can find Google Chrome, and a misspelling such as “chorme” can still lead to Chrome.

CubbyPad lets you rename apps in the grid and search using the names you choose. Use a memorable task or shorthand when the official app name is not what comes to mind.
