# Why CubbyPad’s suggested apps change through the day

CubbyPad’s suggestions strip uses local app-opening history and time of day. It can change with your routine while leaving your chosen pages and folders in place.

## A suggestion reflects a pattern

The tools you open on a weekday morning may differ from those you open on a weekend evening. CubbyPad uses app-opening history, the time of day and the kind of day to suggest apps above the grid.

Recent weeks count more, so a changing routine can gradually change the suggestions. The strip is a convenience based on past behavior, not a prediction that you must follow or a rule that starts an app for you.

## Your arranged grid stays separate

Suggestions do not sort your pages or replace manual folders. The arrangement you built remains the stable way to browse. This lets the top strip adapt without making the rest of the launcher move around.

If the suggested app is not the one you need, use its normal position or search. You do not have to retrain the whole setup before opening something different.

## The usage history stays on the Mac

CubbyPad keeps the app-opening history used for these suggestions locally. There is no analytics service receiving that history. Optional iCloud layout sync and license checks have separate purposes and are explained in the privacy policy.

Task suggestions from Apple Intelligence are another feature: those interpret a query such as “edit photos.” They should not be confused with time-based suggestions learned from your routine.

## Allow a routine to change naturally

A newly installed launcher has less history than one you have used for several weeks. Keep the apps you need arranged where you can find them and treat the strip as an extra shortcut when it becomes useful.

## More on privacy and maintenance.

[### App layouts are different from separate Mac accounts

A Work or Personal layout changes launcher organization. It does not isolate documents or replace macOS user-account access controls.

A running indicator describes what is open now. A recent-app list describes what you used before, even if an app has already quit.
